Veneers Bicester

Transform your smile without the wait with the help of beautiful porcelain veneers.

Introduction to Veneers

If you’ve ever wondered how famous people achieve their perfect smiles, this is all down to veneers. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are placed over the front of the teeth and held in place with special dental cement. This allows us to design every aspect of your smile, from the colour, alignment, shape and length of your teeth. It can help to conceal imperfections including poorly aligned teeth, gaps, chips, cracks, thinning enamel and discolouration that cannot be addressed with teeth whitening. It’s also ideal for lengthening short, peg-like teeth and for creating a more balanced and symmetrical smile that is better suited to your facial structure. If you feel like your smile is holding you back but you don’t want to wait for longer treatments like orthodontics, then veneers offer a comprehensive solution to address everything at once.

Benefits of Veneers

The primary reason that patients turn to veneers is to achieve a dramatic transformation without the wait. Veneer treatment is typically completed over 2-3 visits, which means you don’t have to wait months or years for orthodontic treatment to be completed. We can address multiple imperfections at once, allowing you to walk out of the practice with a stunning new smile without having to wait for multiple treatments. Veneers offer an instant confidence boost that can address a wide range of issues related to dental trauma, injury to the natural ageing process. It’s also a minimally invasive procedure that will protect the underlying tooth structure as much as possible. To prepare the tooth, we remove a small amount of the tooth enamel and nothing more. This means that this treatment can support the natural tooth structure and prevent it from damage.

Porcelain Vs Composite Veneers

Composite veneers are commonly described as a cost-effective alternative to porcelain veneers. Instead of using porcelain shells, composite veneers apply a soft resin directly to the tooth, often by injecting this into a mould that fits over your teeth. This composite resin is then cured using a strong UV light before it is shaped and polished to perfection. Porcelain veneers are the more expensive option because of the more natural-looking finish. Porcelain offers a natural looking finish that mimics the slight translucent look of real teeth. In contrast, composite veneers have a slightly opaque look. Another key difference between these treatments is longevity. While porcelain veneers can last around 12-15 years with good care, composite veneers will last closer to 5 years.
