Some situations would count as a medical emergency rather than a dental emergency. If you have severe and uncontrolled bleeding, or if you have swelling that makes it difficult to breathe or swallow, call 999 or visit A&E for medical attention.

We ask you to arrive at your dental appointment promptly to avoid any delays in treatment. If you are very nervous about your checkup, our staff will be there to support you and help to put you at ease. We’ll start with an examination of your mouth and might ask your questions about your dental history. We often take X-rays during an emergency appointment, as this helps us to see what is going on below the surface. We’ll then offer a diagnosis and treatment plan, which may be carried out on the same day, or you may have to book a follow-up appointment to continue treatment with us.
