Enhance your smile and boost your confidence with porcelain veneers.
Introduction to Veneers
Ever wondered how famous people always have beautiful and perfect teeth? The answer often lies in veneer treatment. Thankfully, you don’t have to be rich and famous to enjoy this life-changing smile transformation. Porcelain veneers offer an accessible way to enhance your smile without long and extensive restorations. No more waiting for orthodontics to work their magic. You can design your dream smile with us and see the results after just a few visits.
Veneers are thin shells or porcelain that fit over the front of the teeth. We typically just focus on the top front teeth visible when you smile, as this is the most cost effective way to achieve dazzling results. Veneers are commonly used to address issues such as alignment issues, gaps, chips, cracks, discolouration and thinning enamel. Rather than address each issue with an individual treatment, we can tackle it all at once with the help of veneers.
Benefits of Veneers
Veneers offer a number of benefits from both aesthetic and oral health perspectives. It’s a fast treatment that can be completed in around 2-3 visits. You won’t be waiting around for your orthodontic treatment to be completed or repeating teeth whitening procedures to maintain the results. This one-stop treatment plan is therefore popular with those who are looking for an overall confidence boost.
From an oral health perspective, there are also benefits to choosing veneers. Our veneer treatment plan will prioritise preserving the natural tooth as much as possible. If you have weakened enamel, veneers can offer some protection against further damage. Veneers can offer a second chance at perfect teeth following damage to your teeth. For example, if lifestyle choices like smoking have damaged your teeth, you can restore your smile and feel confident again.
Porcelain Vs Composite Veneers
A popular alternative to porcelain veneers is composite veneers. This is a cost-effective treatment plan that can deliver results in just one visit. With composite veneers, we don’t use porcelain shells to transform your teeth. Instead, a soft tooth-coloured resin is applied directly to the teeth and shaped as desired. UV light is then used to set the material before it is polished to perfection. A mould of the teeth might also be used and the resin is injected into this mould. This is a cheaper alternative to porcelain veneers, but it has some limitations. First, porcelain veneers offer a more natural looking finish. Porcelain mimics the slightly translucent and glass-like quality of natural tooth, while composite resin looks rather flat and opaque. Porcelain veneers are also designed to last much longer than composite veneers, with the former lasting for around 12-15 years while the latter typically last for around 5 years.
