Composite Bonding Penge
Improve the shape of individual teeth with cosmetic bonding in Penge.
Introduction to Composite Bonding
Until recently, composite resin was more widely used in white dental fillings, but it is now put to use in cosmetic procedures. Composite bonding is a treatment plan to address small imperfections in your smile and improve the shape of individual teeth. This is highly effective for addressing small issues like gaps, chips, dental staining and cracks without the need for more expensive treatments like veneers or crowns. We start by lightly etching the tooth to make it more grippy. A soft resin is applied directly to the tooth and shaped. It is then cured with UV light which causes it to set hard, like a natural tooth. We can then polish it to perfection. The entire process is completed in one visit, making it the fastest restoration option available.
Benefits of Composite Bonding
Patients love this treatment because it is fast, affordable and delivers incredible results. The treatment can be completed in your lunch break, and there is no down time after treatment, so you can head straight back to work. It’s also minimally invasive, so all we need to do is lightly etch the surface of your teeth to allow the resin to bond effectively with the surface. The treatment will typically last for around 5 years before the resin starts to wear down. After this time, you could replace your composite bonding or you could choose a long-term solution such as veneers.
Differences Between Composite Bonding And Composite Veneers
There are different treatment plans available depending on your goals and objectives. When we apply resin to a single tooth, this is known as composite bonding. It’s also possible to apply resin to the top front teeth that are visible when you smile, replicating the results of veneers but for a fraction of the cost.
This treatment plan is highly effective for delivering fast and dramatic smile transformations, perfect if you need to see results for a specific date such as your wedding day. While the results can look similar, it’s important to remember that composite veneers will not last for quite as long as porcelain veneers. We can discuss the options available during your initial consultation.
