We offer same-day emergency dental care for all patients, including those who are not registered with our practice. So if your usual dentist can’t fit you in, or if you don’t currently have a dentist, we can help. These appointments are available on a first-come-first-served basis, so we encourage you to get in touch early in the day to secure a spot.

There are lots of reasons you might require an emergency dental appointment, but we encourage you to get in touch if your issue is keeping you awake at night, preventing you from going to work or school, or getting in the way of everyday life. Some dental issues can become health emergencies very quickly, and in this instance you would need to call 999 or go to A&E. This includes swelling that makes it difficult to breathe or swallow, uncontrolled bleeding and severe trauma to the face or jaw.

Our goal during an emergency dental appointment is to quickly diagnose the issue and provide treatment to prevent further pain or damage. For simple cases, we may be able to provide treatment on the same day to deliver instant relief. In more complex situations, we might ask you to book a follow-up appointment.

When you arrive for your appointment, we will ask about the history of the problem and then examine your teeth and gums. We might take X-rays if we need a better view of what is going on below the gum line. We can then create a treatment plan that may be carried out the same day or during a follow-up appointment. If you need medication to control and infection and bring your pain under control, your dentist can also provide this.
