Is 3D printing safe to use in my mouth?
Yes. We print in medical grade dental resin made specifically for use in the mouth, and every appliance is washed, cured and polished before it is fitted. The technology is used in dental practices and laboratories worldwide.
Does the digital scan hurt?
No. A small wand is passed around your teeth. No putty, no tray and nothing uncomfortable, and you can watch your teeth appear on screen as we go.
Will my appliance really be ready the same day?
In most cases, yes. Retainers, night guards and whitening trays can usually be scanned, designed, printed and fitted in a single visit. Your clinician will confirm the timing for your case at the consultation.
How long will my appliance last?
With proper care it lasts a comparable time to a laboratory made one. It depends on how heavily you grind, how often you wear it and how well you clean it. We will show you how to look after it.
What happens if I lose or break it?
Your digital scan is kept on file, so in most cases we can print a replacement without scanning you again.
